Shaping Smarter Energy Planning: The Mopo Project Puts End-Users in the Spotlight

Sharing is caring :

From 19 to 22 May, the MOPO consortium came together in Amsterdam for its fifth General Assembly. This intensive week brought together all project partners to design future developments with end-users in mind, reinforcing a user-first approach for Mopo.

Hosted by TNO, the meeting brought all project partners under one roof to share updates, align on key milestones, and work together through hands-on tutorials, exploitation workshops, and an Advisory Board meeting. These sessions provided a valuable opportunity to test tools, discuss real-world applications, and gather strategic input for the upcoming phases of the project.

A central theme of the assembly was the emphasis on end-user involvement in the development of Mopo’s energy system modelling tools. Recognizing that the effectiveness of these tools hinges on their usability and relevance to the users, the project has integrated end-user feedback throughout its development process. This approach ensures that the tools are not only scientifically robust but also user-friendly and adaptable to the diverse needs of public authorities, network operators, and industry professionals.

The assembly sessions provided a platform for partners to share insights and experiences, aligning on strategies to enhance the tools’ accessibility and functionality.

This user-centric approach is a testament to Mopo’s commitment to delivering a user-friendly, open-source and validated set of tools that empower stakeholders to plan sustainable and resilient energy systems effectively.

This General Assembly also marked an important step forward in strengthening synergies across partners and ensuring the project remains on track to deliver innovative solutions in energy system modelling.
