The EPRI European Workshop Week took place in Lisbon from April 16th to 18th to define collaborative responses to energy transition in Europe.
This was an occasion to exchange ideas, best practices, and latest findings among the over 200 attendees from leading European organisations in the energy sector.
Twelve workshops were organized to cover different related aspects: insights on leading innovation efforts, technical and detailed discussions focused on resolving key challenges for the industry, and opportunities for new collaborations to tackle emerging challenges.
Mopo project was presented as part of the workshop “How to accelerate transmission development: the need for speed”, on Thursday, 18th April by Eamonn Lannoye. He spoke at the afternoon session “Coordinating Grid Planning for Speed”, along with other European projects, with the presentation titled “Energy System Modelling with Spine Tools”.
He affirmed: “Engaging with over 200 attendees from leading European energy organizations allowed us to underscore the critical role of our Spine Toolbox in managing workflows and scenarios, as well as the flexibility offered by SpineOpt in adapting to diverse temporal and spatial structures. This platform not only enhances efficiency but also empowers decision-makers across network operation, industry, and public authorities, marking a significant step forward towards a more sustainable energy future.”
In his presentation, Eamonn Lannoye initially outlined Mopo’s objectives and anticipated outcomes, before delving into the features and advantages offered by the Spine Toolbox interface.
